NCAA Football Betting: ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE vs.USC TROJANS @ Arlington, TX (9/3)

COLLEGE FOOTBALL — September 3

ALABAMA vs. USC
@ Arlington, TX

(Line:USC -11.5, Total 52.5) – At first glance, this looks like it could be an offensive explosion at AT&T Stadium; after all, the Trojans return ten starters on offense and have one of the great receivers in the country in Juju Smith-Schuster, while the Tide is always reloading on the offensive side. And Alabama’s offensive coordinator, Lane Kiffin, might be inclined to call some plays to run it up after the school rudely fired him from his “dream job” at LAX three seasons ago. But Alabama has brought back more depth on the defensive side of the ball, and they are more comfortable dealing with dropback types than they are dual option threats. Max Browne gets the start for USC, and he was a big high school prospect who hasn’t quite measured up yet for the Trojans. This is a tough assignment for a first start. And Cooper Bateman, likely to get most of the QB snaps for ‘Bama, has failed twice to really put a firm grip on this job early; he made the start against Ole Miss last year and that was Nick Saban’s only loss. The learning curve will be tough for both signal-callers.
