College Football Betting: LSU TIGERS at WISCONSIN BADGERS (9/3)

(Line:LSU -10.5, Total 44.5) – LSU has great talent returning (17 starters overall) and they are very deep on the defensive side. Plus, of course, they have one of the Heisman Trophy favorites in running back Leonard Fournette. But they also have a weakness at quarterback, as Brandon Harris completed just 54% of his passes last season and has a ways to go. This is what will hold the Bayou Bengals back from national championship contention. Wisconsin is hardly an explosive passing team, and we are not sure what we’ll see from redshirt senior Bart Houston, except to know that he is very familiar with the system. Corey Clement is itching for a comeback after seeing his 2015 campaign derailed by a sports hernia. And Wisconsin’s defense was ranked second in the nation last year, so they are good enough to keep Fournette (who flopped against Alabama) under relative control. How good were the Badgers on “D” last year? Well, good enough that LSU coach Les Miles hired their coordinator (Dave Aranda)! Only two of Wisconsin’s last 21 defeats have been by more than ten points (including the 28-24 come-from-ahead loss to LSU in 2014).
