NBA Finals Betting – Game 2: CLEVELAND CAVLIERS at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (6/5)

PRO BASKETBALL — June 5

NBA Finals – Game 2
CLEVELAND at GOLDEN STATE

(America’s Bookie Line: Warriors -6, Total 209.5) — Cleveland’s ugly problems surfaced in Game 1 when they were a little handcuffed on defense as they had their own shooters on the floor. And this came even as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were combining to go 8-27 from the floor. They got burned by the Golden State bench (by a 45-10 margin) and Shaun Livingston was a killer, as he went 8-10 and scored 20 points. Livingston is now 18-21 in three meetings with the Cavs, so it is safe to say they can’t guard him. Golden State got 54 points in the paint, as Cleveland can’t guard the rim, and we don’t think big minutes from Timofey Mozgov are in their near future. Curry and Thompson are NOT going 8-27 again, or at least we don’t think, and Cleveland has a hard time putting its small lineup on the floor because of the difficulty in matchup with the Warriors’ small lineup. Don’t underestimate Golden State’s defensive abilities; the Warriors have held 21 of the last 23 opponents under 45% from the field, and they have enough flexibility to switch all night long, leaving Cleveland to try a lot of isolation. Tyronn Lue says he is not going to change the game plan, although he mentioned wanting to increase the tempo a bit. But doesn’t that play into G-State’s hands? The Warriors have won six straight meetings by an average of 16 points. Lay it.
