NBA Finals Betting – Game 1: CLEVELAND CAVALIERS at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (6/2)

PRO BASKETBALL — June 2

NBA Finals – Game 1
CLEVELAND at GOLDEN STATE

(America’s Bookie Line: Warriors -6, Total 209.5) — Cleveland has done its best to install some firepower by adding Channing Frye (58% threes in the playoffs) and of course, there is the prospect of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love being healthy throughout, which was not the case last season in the Finals. And the Cavs have been gearing up for this matchup, hoisting up 41% of their shots from beyond the arc, making over 43% of them in this post-season. But one has to wonder whether the best offense along those lines is going to add up to the best defense. Love is a horrible rim protector, and Irving is going to have more than a handful playing against either Golden State guard. Plus, Cleveland is going to have to prove it can actually hit from long range against this Warrior crew, which held it to 29% in last year’s Finals and just 24% from three-point territory in two meetings in the regular season. Keep in mind that Steve Kerr’s team was the second best in the league when it came to defending three-pointers (allowing just 33.4%). They have also demonstrated some real consistency on defense, yielding 45% or better to just two of the last 20 opponents. The Cavs have to shoot well to win, as they have hit 505 or better in four of their last six and have scored at least 100 points in 22 of the last 24 games. They may get slowed down considerably by this Golden State team.
