NBA Betting: East Playoffs – Game 7: MIAMI HEAT at TORONTO RAPTORS (5/15)

East Playoffs – Game 7

(America’s Bookie Line: Raptors -4.5, Total 188) — Miami went with the very small lineup in Game 6, including rookie Justise Winslow at center, and they got the better of the Raptors because they got some solid shooting from mid-range and attacked the basket well. But at least Toronto knows what it has to do on defense, and expect them to continue to stay “big” as much as possible with Bismack Biyombo and Patrick Patterson. Remember that Miami is just 38.4% accurate in catch-and-shoot situations, as far as Effective Field Goal Percentage is concerned, and that is the worst figure out of any of the eight teams in the conference semi-finals. Luol Deng, who starts (they have no choice) has battled a wrist injury and is 1-13 fro the field in the last two games. There is some upside for Toronto; Kyle Lowry (+42 in his plus/minus in the series) and DeMar DeRozan are shooting 38% and they can do better. They scored 59 of the team’s 92 points in Game 6 and the Raptors can get more balance than that. The team got just four triples the other night, and that should improve. And while they got just 15 points off the bench in Game 6, we know that Cory Joseph and Terrence Ross had 14 apiece in that role in the previous contest. Home teams have won ten of the last 11 Game 7 situations, and it helps the Raptors from a psychological standpoint that they were able to beat Indiana in that spot in their opening-round series.
