NBA Betting: SAN ANTONIO SPURS at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (4/7)

PRO BASKETBALL — April 7

SAN ANTONIO at GOLDEN STATE
(America’s Bookie Line: Warriors -7.5, Total 208.5) — The Warriors jumped all over a Spurs team that was without Tim Duncan in the first meeting on January 25, winning 120-90 in a game that featured 46 turnovers. Then San Antonio got a little payback on March 19, holding Steph Curry to four for 18 from the field and Golden State to just 79 points. The Warriors have to now win all four games to beat the ’95-’96 Chicago Bulls’ 72-10 record. They haven’t been playing all that well (18.2 turnovers over the last six) and that is something that should provide sufficient motivation. On the other hand, we’re not so sure about the motivation of the Spurs, considering Gregg Popovich’s propensity to rest players and the very scant possibility that they could come out with the #1 seed in the West. So we trust him a lot less in this situation than we do Steve Kerr, who at the very least wants to get his team in much better form as it heads to the playoffs.
