NBA Betting: DALLAS MAVERICKS at UTAH JAZZ (4/11)

PRO BASKETBALL — April 11

DALLAS at UTAH
(America’s Bookie Line: Jazz -7, Total 180.5) — The Jazz is fighting off the Houston Rockets for the eighth playoff spot, but at the same time they could conceivably pass both Dallas AND Memphis and get to #6, which would help them avoid both the Warriors and the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. They are the stingiest team as far as points allowed are concerned, and that is because they have played at the slowest pace, statistically speaking. But the Mavs have also gone in this direction, with some success. Rookie guard Justin Anderson has been a welcome insertion into the lineup, and Dallas had won every game he started for them until Sunday night (six straight), when they lost to the Clippers. The Mavericks are also fighting for position, in the seventh spot at the moment, so expect them to continue with the same formula and to put forth an intense defensive effort (have held each of lat seven opponents below 100 points). The “under” here, even with the low posted number, is worth a try.
