College Basketball Betting: NCAA Final Four – NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS vs. SYRACUSE ORANGE (4/2)

COLLEGE BASKETBALL — April 2

NCAA Semi-Finals @ Houston
NORTH CAROLINA vs. SYRACUSE

(America’s Bookie Line: North Carolina -10, Total 142.5) — UNC has some things going for it, namely the fact that Syracuse has not been shooting all that well, despite all their tournament victories (below 40% in three of the last four). And remember that the Tar Heels have some power underneath; enough that they rank seventh in the nation in offensive rebounding. Syracuse sped up Virginia to emerge out of the region, although they may have to make the reverse work in this case. But really, who has slowed the Tar Heels down thus far? Well, in this case it could have something to do with NRG Stadium, where teams have hit just 29.6% from three-point range in tournament play – owing to the depth perception. And if Syracuse continues to be industrious in its matchup zone, that will force UNC to the outside to shoot over it, and they are just 32% on the season. Four double digit scorers (averages) don’t hurt the cause of Syracuse, which has covered seven of the last eight. And even though North Carolina won both meetings this season, the Orange were not out of either of them, being very close in the first one and neck-and-neck with three minutes to go in the second one. The Heels shot just 9 of 41 from downtown in those games. Jim Boeheim’s team has the ability to keep this competitive.
