Pro Basketball Betting: BROOKLYN NETS at UTAH JAZZ (2/27)

PRO BASKETBALL — February 27

(America’s Bookie Line: Jazz -11.5, Total 198.5) — The Jazz, in playoff contention at the moment, were held to their lowest point total of the season last time out against San Antonio, but if you take a look at their offensive numbers just previous to that, you’ll see that they scored 113 ppg over a three-game stretch. Against poor-defending Brooklyn, that would be an advantage, but the Nets are coming off a game where they tallied 66 points by halftime against the Suns (and 116 total). Brooklyn has shot over their season average of 45% in seven of the last eight contests, and we’re not saying that they are going to do that here, but Tony Brown has committed to increasing the tempo, and we have seen the results – 12 of their last 15 have gone “over.” The Jazz can slow them down, but they may not be all that uncomfortable in accommodating them, because they might have more firepower anyway, especially with useful contributions coming from new acquisition Shelvin Mack (13.7 ppg off bench in a Utah uniform).
