College Football Betting: Cactus Bowl – WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINEERS vs. ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS (1/2)

COLLEGE FOOTBALL — January 2

Cactus Bowl @ Phoenix
WEST VIRGINIA vs. ARIZONA STATE

(America’s Bookie Line: West Virginia -3, Total 62.5) — West Virginia is different than they have been in the recent past, because head coach Dana Holgorsen has called 61% rushing plays. ASU has not been run over by opponents as a matter of habit, and their blitz-crazy defense (44 sacks) should give Skyler Howard (12 INT’s) some fits. The Sun Devils are balanced enough on offense, with a bruising ground force (between Demario Richard and Kalen Ballage) and quarterback Mike Bercovici, playing his final game before “home” fans (this is at Chase Field in Phoenix). We respect WVU’s +11 turnover margin, but the Mountaineers have had their problems with the wide-open offense they’ve faced (Baylor and TCU both topped 600 yards).
