College Basketball Odds: KANSAS JAYHAWKS at WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINEERS (1/12)

COLLEGE BASKETBALL — January 12

KANSAS at WEST VIRGINIA
(America’s Bookie Line: Kansas -2, Total 154) — Hey, Kansas really earned it a week ago by beating Oklahoma in that triple-overtime thriller, and they could be excused for being a little flat against Texas Tech last time out (lowest shooting percentage AND scoring total this season). The Jayhawks obviously like to accelerate the tempo (88.4 points per game), but they are going up against a team that doesn’t mind that one bit. West Virginia leads the nation in forcing turnovers (almost 21 a game) and they are excellent on the offensive glass, pulling down 17.3 offensive rebounds per contest. They have good balance, and the requisite big man in a Devin Williams to force the issue under the basket. Daxter Miles, who had 23 points the last time these teams met, will be back from an ankle injury, and that’s a big boost for Bob Huggins’ team. Kansas has lost on its last two trips to Morgantown, including a February 16 defeat in which the Mountaineers once again dominated the offensive glass.
