Monday Night NFL Betting: CINCINNATI BENGALS at DENVER BRONCOS (12/28)

PRO FOOTBALL — December 28

CINCINNATI at DENVER
(America’s Bookie Line: Broncos -4, Total 40) — This game actually carries great importance for the Broncos, who could conceivably be left out of the AFC playoff picture if they lose this one and next week’s game against San Diego. We are officially concerned about Brock Osweiler’s second-half performances, as he has completed just 49% of his passes. And the Broncos have not scored a second half point in any of their lats three games. Still, the defense, which has allowed just 268 yards on the ground over the last five games, is enough to carry the day, especially as they go up against AJ McCarron, who is making his second NFL start. Tyler Eifert won’t be available to the youngster, and we wonder if he has a rapport yet with the other AJ – Green – who was targeted just three times last week. The Bengals’ three TD drives against San Francisco were for 11, 20 and 36 yards. This task is more difficult, as Denver, which has frustrated no less than three Super Bowl MVP’s (Joe Flacco, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady) at home, has allowed the fewest yards and points on a per-drive basis, as well as 3.2 yards a carry and 5.6 yards per rush attempt, AND has the highest sack rate in the league.
