College Football Betting: Texas Bowl – LSU TIGERS vs. TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS (12/29)

Texas Bowl @ Houston

(America’s Bookie Line: LSU -7, Total 74.5) — One thing we expect here is for Leonard Fournette to come out with a vengeance. Admittedly it hurt him with Heisman voters that he did not come up with big games against some big opponents with strong defenses. Well, the Red raiders do not fit that category, as they have allowed a bloated 5.9 yards per carry. So the Tigers will have favorable down-and-distance situations throughout. But if we can count on another thing, it is that Texas Tech will keep firing to the end, making them a valuable commodity come “garbage time,” if such a time winds up existing. Patrick Mahomes had 4288 yards and 32 touchdowns. And the Raiders had some nice yardage totals even against some of the highly-ranked teams on the schedule, like TCU (607), Baylor (636) and Oklahoma State (642). And while we recognize that LSU’s passing attack is pedestrian by comparison, we can tell you that in games against offenses that were also not dynamic, Texas tech was involved in high-scoring affairs – Kansas State (59-44), Texas (48-45), Iowa State (66-31). So we know which direction to go.
