NFL Betting: NEW YORK JETS at HOUSTON TEXANS (11/22)

PRO FOOTBALL — November 22

N.Y. JETS at HOUSTON
(America’s Bookie Line: Jets -4, Total 40.5) — The Jets have lost three out of their last four games, although obviously their secondary is going to be a challenge for TJ Yates, who gets the start at quarterback in place of Brian Hoyer. But you’ve got to remember that Yates is not coming to the party cold; he had five starts in his previous tenure in Houston, including a couple of playoff games. And he did direct the Texans to their only touchdown in the victory over previously-unbeaten Cincinnati last week. Ryan Fitzpatrick returns after getting surgery on his left thumb, and he will need a lot of help from the running game. Can Chris Ivory, who’s had only one good game in the last five, provide it? Houston really tightened up against the Bengals, and they also have the best third-down defense in the National Football League, allowing opponents to convert only 27% of the time. If you would lay points in this game strictly on the basis of quarterbacks, you may be in for a very unpleasant surprise.
