NFL Pre-Season Odds: GREEN BAY PACKERS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (8/13)

PRO FOOTBALL — August 13

GREEN BAY at NEW ENGLAND
(America’s Bookie Line: Patriots -2, Total 38) — Tom Brady’s status is kind of iffy because he has been tending to his court case against the NFL, which may allow him to avoid a suspension, but what that means for us here is that while the QB situation is unclear for the Patriots, Jimmy Garoppolo, who is the anticipated starter if Brady sits out the first four games, probably won’t be over-exposed. That would leave some action in the hands of Ryan Lindley, who led the Arizona Cardinals to 75 net yards in a playoff game against Carolina last season, and is not that prepared, having only been with the team for a few practices. New England has averaged 31.3 points at home in the last two pre-seasons, but can’t see that here. Green Bay could have Aaron Rodgers available for a couple of series, and we expect something interesting out of rookie Brett Hundley in second-half duty.
