Baseball Odds: LOS ANGELES ANGELS at SEATTLE MARINERS (7/9)

BASEBALL — July 9

L.A. ANGELS (Richards) at SEATTLE (Hernandez)
(America’s Bookie Line: Mariners -150 / Angels +130, Total 7) — This is a rare instance in which each of these pitchers has demonstrated that he can dominate the other team. Hernandez has an ERA of 0.93 in his last nine starts against the Angels, while Richards is 0.97 in his last five against the Mariners. So none of this is an accident. Naturally the “under” is well worth exploring, and if we are picking one of the two sides, we would say the one that is more likely to take advantage of those rare opportunities. In this case, that would be the Angels, who have hit .446 with runners in scoring position during a current five-game win streak (they have also taken nine out of ten). Seattle’s RISP batting average is just .203 on the season.

PLAYS BY JAY: L.A. ANGELS (+130) *** and UNDER 7 (-110) ***
