Baseball Betting : CINCINNATI REDS at CHICAGO CUBS (6/14)

BASEBALL — June 14

CINCINNATI (DiScalfani) at CHI. CUBS (Lester)
(America’s Bookie Line: Cubs -152, Reds +142, Total 7.5) — Oh, we know how lousy the Reds can be on the road; in fact, they have lost eleven of their last 13 as the visitor. But Anthony DiScalfani, possessor of three straight victories, seems to have the ability to cut through some of that. Did you know that he has a career 2.54 ERA on the road, with a .192 BAA? This Cubs lineup has a lifetime .205 average against him. So he is the kind of guy who could give them a chance here. Meanwhile, Jon Lester, the $155 million man, got all psyched up for his “free agent showdown” against Max Scherzer, but has been blasted since, with 11 earned run over his last 9-1/3 innings. And left-handed hitters are batting .339, which won’t be good news when Joey Votto (.357in last 15 games) strides up to the plate. Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs (.431 OBA) is 0-for-8 against the Cincy hurler. Quick tip for DiScalfani – don’t pitch around Lester; he has 68 career plate appearances without a base hit.
