MLB Betting : DETROIT TIGERS at LOS ANGELES ANGELS (5/31)

BASEBALL — May 31

DETROIT (Price) at L.A. ANGELS (Shoemaker)
(America’s Bookie Line: Pick’em, Total 7) — Lots of interesting stuff to look at here. The Tigers are 9-1 when David Price starts, but 1-12 in their last 13 games at the Big A. And the Angels have beaten them in 16 of the last 19 games. Both of these pitchers went seven scoreless innings in their last start. Can they duplicate it? Probably less likely for Matt Shoemaker, who was last year’s Rookie of the Year runner-up but is struggling to find the same form on a consistent basis. Interestingly, Shoemaker’s ratio of hits to runs allowed this year is 1.56, which is awful. And he has had a tendency to give up the long ball, with 13 HR’s surrendered, compared with 14 all of last season. Price has not exactly been untouchable for the Angels, as they blasted him out last season, with Albert Pujols taking him deep twice. Well, it just so happens that Pujols is hot right now, having homered in each of his last three games.
