Sunday Night Pro Football Betting: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at DALLAS COWBOYS (9/28)

PRO FOOTBALL — September 28

(GetThatBet Line: Saints -3, Total 53.5) — This is a big revenge game for Dallas, which was completely manhandled on both sides of the football when they visited New Orleans last season. The Saints had forty first downs, which was an NFL record, and also gained 625 yards. It was more lopsided than the 49-17 final score would suggest. So we kind of sense that Sean Payton and his staff, along with quarterback Drew Brees, know how to attack this defense, which is not as good as it was last season. On the other hand, we might expect Dallas to be more combative in this one, as they run the ball better (in fact, they actually have a ratio of 95 running plays to 89 passes), and the Saints, who are minus Mark Ingram for this game, are considerably less imposing when they are out of the Superdome, as their 1-6 ATS record as a road favorite would attest. New Orleans has also lost five consecutive road games, which should not be ignored. Without Darren Sproles in the lineup we wonder if this New Orleans offense is as dynamic. But since neither defense is all that rock-solid, the present circumstances will be good enough to take us over this number.
