NFL Football Betting: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9/29)

NFL FOOTBALL — September 29

NEW ENGLAND at KANSAS CITY
(GetThatBet Line: Pats -2.5, Total 46.5) — The Patriots have been sluggish moving the ball offensively, and that is mostly because the running game hasn’t worked all that well, and Rob Gronkowski has been just gradually working his way into things. That may continue here. The fact remains that Tom Brady only has one legit wide receiver threat, Julian Edelman, and overall he is averaging just 5.5 yards a pass attempt. On top of that, New England has hurt itself with 30 penalties for 330 yards. But on defense they may have the formula to really slow Kansas City down. They have allowed just 4.4 yards per play, and with somebody like Darrelle Revis, they can cover what amounts to KC’s only true outside threat (Dwayne Bowe). Alex Smith still doesn’t have the kind of arm that can get the ball down the field, so after taking away one side, and being able to come in closer to the line of scrimmage, that helps against what is a two-fisted running attack now (Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis). We may be surprised, but we aren’t expecting a wide-open affair. For those following tech trends, note that New England has failed to cover five of its last six as a road favorite, and that the Chiefs have gone “under” in eleven of their last 15 at home.
