NFL Football Betting: JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (9/28)

NFL FOOTBALL — September 28

JACKSONVILLE at SAN DIEGO
(GetThatBet Line: Chargers -13, Total 44.5) — Philip Rivers appears to be picking up where he left off last season, as he is accurate (68.4% completions) and avoids negative plays (just two sacks and one interception). It’s nice to see Antonio Gates get out to a good start (14 receptions, 185 yards), and Malcom Floyd, who missed almost all of West season with an injury, is yet another target for Rivers to throw to, as he had TWO receptions that went for 49 yards in one half against Buffalo last week. The Chargers showed a lot of mental toughness coming back from a big win over Seattle, followed by a long trip East, as they pretty much dominated things against Buffalo. This week they face the Jaguars, who have converted only 24% of their third-down opportunities. Now coach Gus Bradley has turned to Blake Bortles, the #3 overall pick, as he replaces Chad Henne, who was sacked 16 times and completed only 54% of his passes. Bortles will take chances, and he will make plays. Last week in his relief role, he had two touchdown passes and two interceptions, but the thing you want to remember is the fact that he will be swinging until the end. Of course, he’ll have a challenge keeping his team within earshot, as the Jacksonville secondary has surrendered over eight yards per passing attempt and eight touchdowns, having intercepted only one opposition pass.
